AV Specialist partner with Arksports' Sports and Technology for great sporting editorial during 2006

AV Specialist has formed an alliance with Arksports in the UK - and over the course of 2006 we'll be working with them to present a series of articles that will focus on the the use of TV technology in various sporting events.
One of the first benefits of this alliance is that we're able to offer AV Specialist readers an advance opportunity to participate in the 'Sport and Technology' conference taking place in the UK on 23 February 2006.
BT Media and Broadcast is sponsoring the event which will once again be held at the state-of-the-art BT Centre in London. Commercial partners already include Aura Sports, Skinkers, SportBusiness Group, Screen Digest and SportAccord. The format of the conference will follow a discussion style format with speakers from organisations including BT, BBC Sport, the Australian Football League, PSV Eindhoven, Sports Resource Group, Deltatre, Hawk-Eye Innovations, Cat Games, Kirkpatrick and Lockheart, Wasserman Media Group, Sportev and Premium TV, giving us all an insight to what is hot and what is not in the Sport and Technology sphere. The event will also incorporate elongated networking breaks and an evening cocktail party with a celebrity charity raffle. In addition, there will be various stands at the event where innovators of new and existing technologies will be showing off their wares.
The 2005 event was a sell-out and Arksports expect delegate spaces for the 2006 conference to be taken up quickly as well, with spaces strictly limited to 172.
The early-bird price remains the same as the 2005 event - £495 (plus VAT). There are further discounts for group bookings. For further information on the conference and to secure your delegate space at the must-attend event of 2006, please visit http://www.sportandtechnologyconference.com
This is just the first of many opportunities that will arise out of our alliance with Arksports so even if you aren't able to attend the conference, we'll make sure we cover it in detail in the magazine.

Simon Long
"The inaugural Sport and Technology Conference was a keynote event for 2005 as it provided a unique multi-disciplined forum for the industry to exchange best practice and debate in an interactive environment, some of the fundamental dynamics that are critical to our future. The breadth of topics covered from all walks of the sport and technology worlds ensured a high quality of discussion and insight…. Congratulations to the team at ArkSports and to the event sponsor, BT, for establishing what I am sure will be a 'must attend' industry event on everyone's calendar for years to come." Simon Long, Managing Director, ISC/ World Rally Championship
