During this years IBC conference AV Specialist concluded an agreement with Def & Communication, a Paris-based media company who represent a number of foreign broadcast publications in the European market.
“Over the last few years we’ve had a growing interest from European manufacturers and distributors interested in marketing their products in the Middle East and Africa,” explained AV Specialist publisher Kevan Jones. “The appointment of Def & Communication means that we now have direct representation in Europe and are able to meet the needs of the regions’ clients even more effectively.”

Over the last few years’ European manufacturers have flexed their muscles throughout Africa and the Middle East - and recognize it as a regional growth area for the broadcast industry. “Following our decision to open a fully-staffed office in Dubai, the Middle East is rapidly becoming one of our top regions for growth,” says Bjarne Berg, President and CEO of Vizrt in Norway. But Vizrt isn’t alone in achieving sales success in the Middle East. Italy’s Ianiro Lighting has seen sales dramatically increase in the region over the last two years. “The Middle East has delivered dramatic growth for our company and plays a central part in our marketing plans for the next few years,” says Fabrizia Ianiro, president of the company.
Fabio Lancellotti, president of Def & Communication, and Emmanuel Archambeaud, D&C’s sales manager, are both enthusiastic about this new relationship. “A number of our broadcast clients exhibited at CABSAT earlier in the year and were extremely excited at the opportunities that exist with the region. After exploring the media market we identified AV Specialist as the leading broadcast technology magazine in the Middle East and opened a dialogue with Kevan. It quickly became apparent that, by working together, we could provide real value to European manufacturers and distributors wanting to increase their presence in the Middle East and Africa. We are also working very closely with Kevan to develop a new regional version of AV Specialist to cover the broadcast and production market in the Indian sub-continent.”

Def & Communication will represent AV Specialist through most of Europe excluding the United Kingdom and Benelux region.
